Gerd Arntz

-Gerd Arntz was a designer tasked with making Isotype’s pictograms and visual signs. Isotype stood for International System Of TYpographic Picture Education started by Otto Neurath.

-Arntz designed around 4000 signs and pictographs, the pictographs symbolized keydata from industry, demographics, politics and economy and were systematically employed, in combination with stylized maps and diagrams.

-Gerd Arntz wanted his work to depict scenes of industrial scenes, city views, and numerous depictions of workers rebelling against capitalist owners and the police.
